The main criteria for a better movie watching experience is to keep the story simple and present it in a clutter-free yet engaging manner. Mala Kahich Problem Nahi shows the same maturity in story-telling. The screenplay is smooth and director Sameer Vidwans does not preach anything, in fact the title itself is a sarcasm. There is no person on planet Earth without problems, but we constantly yearn for problem-free life.
The story of Mala Kahich Problem Nahi starts with the quarrel between Ajay's (Gashmeer Mahajani) Nagpuri family and Ketaki's (Spruha Joshi) Konkani family. Even when the families oppose their marriage, they go ahead and have a court marriage. The relationship problems start after 7 years of their marriage, when they already have a 4 year old son, Tanay. Both are not able to spend quality time together and are occupied with their careers, home and personal demons. Ketaki is more voiceful for their relationship problems and almost decides for a divorce, when enters the parents of Ajay. All of them decide to meet Ketaki's parents in Konkan for resolving their long pending problems.
The second half altogether concentrates on spreading this sarcasm of 'Mala Kahich Problem Nahi' to everyone in the family. Everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side, but are unhappy and forgot to water their side of the grass. The rest of the film tries to convey that we all have problems in life and we have to speak and resolve these problem or atleast try to accept it.
All the actors have done exceptional job in their respective roles. Angry Ketaki and ever so cool Ajay has been portrayed with conviction by Spruha and Gashmeer. The rest of the support cast has shown their acting talents in small but significant roles. The use of Nagpuri and Konakni language is an added attraction to show the diversity of Maharashtrian families.
Director Sameer Vidwans is able to show the little minute things of relationships and where it goes wrong. After his Double Seat, this film concentrates on importance of healthy relation between husband and wife. background score, editing and cinematography is of excellent standard.
Overall: Do watch this with your spouse & family and you will find your problems in this film and then don't say Mala Kahich Problem Nahi, but try and resolve it.
