Smita Shewale started her acting career with Kedar Shinde directed film Yanda Kartavya Aahe (2006) opposite Ankush Chaudhari. Thereafter she acted in 12-15 films. She got married in 2013 and had a son in 2015. After her son's birth she took a break of about 2.5 years. Now she is ready to make her comeback on Silver Screen with revenge horror film Kanika.
During the press conference of Kanika MarathiCineyug.com got a chance to interact with Smita. She said, "I am playing an important character in Kanika and it was one of the most challenging roles of my career. When I shot the first scene for Kanika, everyone on the sets clapped including the villagers gathered to watch the shooting and appreciated my acting. It made me emotional as I was shooting almost after two and half years of break from films. I thank Director Pushkar Manohar for making me part of Kanika."

Though Smita's film 'Hakka' released few weeks back, it was shot more than 3 years ago. She also thanked her fans who appreciate her work and are always connected with her on social media. She said, "My fans have always supported me and my work. I have worked hard to comeback to acting after a long gap and I hope they will keep loving my work. I promise that I will work hard and try to give diversity in my upcoming roles. We all have made a beautiful film Kanika and please watch it in cinemas from 31st March"
