1. Mukta Barve was born on 17th May 1981 at Chinchwad, a suburb near to Pune City.

2. Mukta's father worked at a telecom company while her mother was a school teacher. Her brother Debu Barve is a commercial artist.

3. During her school, she participated in many plays and started loving acting as a profession. She had admitted that she was a socially awkward child.

4. Later she graduated from Savitribai Phule Pune University in the subject theatre and earned a Bachelor's degree with Drama from Lalit Kala Kendra.

5. She moved to Mumbai to focus on her acting career and stayed at a girls hostel in Kurla.

6. Mukta started her acting career in high school itself with the play ‘Ghar Tighanche Hava’, directed by Ratnakar Matkari.

7. Mukta got her first commercial play, Suyog's Aamhala Vegle Vhayache in 2001. She made her debut on Marathi television in 1998 with the TV series Ghadlay Bighadlay in which she played the character named Champa in rural style.

8. Mukta is a versatile actress and still works in all mediums of entertainments viz. Television, Theatre and Films. She recently started working as RJ on a Radio show 'The Mukta Barve Show' on MY FM, adding one more feather in her versatality.

9. Mukta has won 6 Mahrashtra State Film Awards for Best actress for Marathi Plays and Films.

10. Mukta is one Marathi actress who has given hits after hit films for last one decade, with only increase in her popularity. The 2009 film, Jogwa became a turning point in her career, giving her back to back hit films: Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai (2010), Aaghaat (2009), Badam Rani Gulam Chor (2012), Lagna Pahave Karun (2013), Mangalashtak Once More (2013), Double Seat (2015) and Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai 2 (2015). In 2016, she appeared in two Marathi films YZ and Ganvesh, but not in the lead Roles. Her acting is still appreciated in these small roles, stamping her authority as a versatile actress.

11. The television shows Agnihotra (2009-2010) and Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta (2012) are an important part of her television career.

12. Mukta Barve also owns a production house named Rasika Productions under which she has produced the plays: Chhapa Kata, Lovebirds (2015) and Indira (2015). Currently, she is acting and producing a play named CodeMantra (2016) under the banner of Rasika Productions. The play Codemantra has won many awards.

13. Mukta will be playing the lead role opposite Subodh Bhave in an upcoming Marathi film Hrudayantar, directed by Vikram Phadnis. The film releases on 7th July 2017.
