At the recently held Cannes Film Festival, the Information & Broadcasting minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was seen mingling with the Marathi Film fraternity in attendance.
While he happily posed for selfies with Adinath Kothare and Suresh Jaisinghani at the French Riviera, the minister also expressed interest in Marathi films. Jaisinghani said, "He was very warm and was interacting with Adinath and me for about 20 minutes. He inquired from Adinath about his directorial debut 'Paani' and was aware of the success of 'Sairat' too. He was kind to wish the team of 'Half Ticket' the very best and also signed on our film poster."
This Year 3 Marathi films Ringan, Halaal and Vakratunda Mahakaya were sent by the Maharashtra Govt. to Cannes. Samit Kakkad's Half Ticket and Adinath Kothare's Paani participated for exploring the internation markets and exposure to Marathi films.
With interest from the I&B minister himself, the future of Marathi films looks even brighter.
