Priyanka Chopra’s debut Marathi production Ventilator produced under the banner of Purple Pebble Pictures won National awards in three categories. Ventilator has previously won many awards in different areas but winning a national award adds to the happiness and increases the glory. Rajesh Mapuskar won the award for the Best Director, while the Best Editing award went to Rameshwar Bhagat and Best Sound Mixing to Alok De for this film.
The Marathi film, produced by Priyanka Chopra and her mother Madhu Chopra under their production banner Purple Pebble Pictures is a story of a joint family whose eldest member is being put on the ventilator just days before the popular Ganpati festival, the hospital has lots of visitors but all for their personal interest leading to mixed degrees of gossips. The film presents situations faced by most people in India making it easy to connect with it. In Ventilator, Priyanka Chopra had also made her debut as a singer and it starred Ashutosh Gowariker in an important role along with 116 other leading Marathi actors.
The Directorate of Film Festivals announced the winners of the 64th National Film Awards today and the ceremony for this will be held on May 3rd, 2017.
