The mehfil will take place on Sunday, the 17th of June, at The Shivaswami Auditorium, Chembur. She will be singing Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil songs and also songs sung by Mohamed Rafi, Kishor Kumar, Talat Mehmud, Mukesh, Daler Mehndi, Lata Mangeshkar and Malayalam songs of K.S.Chitra. From 4.30pm to 9.30pm, for five hours continuously Vijayalakshmi will be casting a spell on those present at the show. Having conquered the music world, this will be the first public performance of Vijayalakshmi. Vinod Tawde, Minister for Education and Culture, will be present as the chief guest of this event. Anand Sahasrabudhe will be anchoring the program.
Although Vijayalakshmi has not seen the world, she has made a record in the world of music. A consummate player of the Gayatriveena, Vijayalakshmi has performed in various parts of the country. Born in Kerala, Vijayalakshmi shifted to Chennai to pursue her music education and sadhana. Vijayalakshmi has also performed in the song sequence of ‘Kaate Kaate’ from the Malayalam film ‘Celluloid’. She has so far sung about forty songs in twenty films. Apart from Malayalam, she has also sung for Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu and Kannada films.
