Written by Mihir Rajda, Directed by Adwait Dadarkar and acted by Shashank Ketkar, Mangesh Kadam & Leena Bhagwat, Marathi Play Goshta Tashi Gamtichi staged its 400th Show on the day of Diwali Padwa at Gadkari Rangayatan in the presence of Marathi celebrities and houseful theatre. The play has an achievement that it is running for last 3 years continuously without any replacements. N. Chandra, Aadesh Bandekar, Suchitra Bandekar, Anant Jog, Jitendra Joshi, Shreya Bugde, Saagar Karande and Bhau Kadam were among the celebrities who graced the show with their presence.
'Goshta Tashi Gamtichi' is the story of a nuclear family of Dixits with couple Sanjay Dixit & Vasanti and their son Kunal. The play highlights the generation gap between father and son , communication problems, middle class mentality, resistance to business idea and a woman caught between her Husband and Son. The story moves forward with a light-hearted comic dailogues with sometimes serious and unexpected twists. It is a must watch with entire family.
The play is produced by Nandu Kadam under the banner of Sonal Productions. Music by Abhijit Pendharkar, costumes by Amita Khopkar, Production design by Pradeep Patil and light effects are by Ravi Karmarkar. The cast and crew were presented with the special memorable trophy engraved with 400 shows.
On the Ocassion famous Bollywood director N. Chandra said, "After watching the play, I felt like I am watching Rajkumar Hirani film. The tense subject of a nuclear family is handled so maturely with right dose of comedy is really appreciable."
Actor Jitendra Joshi said, "I am thrilled to watch these 3 fine actors perform on stage. I don't know why I waited so long to watch such a fine play, but the wait was worth it as I am watching the 400th show."
Home Minister fame Aadesh Bandekar said, "I am really happy to watch this show with my wife and son. I am glad that, I gifted such a fine gift to my wife, Suchitra on the day of Diwali Padwa. I am surely going to buy a new big shoe rack for my son."
Announcement: Goshta Tashi Gamtichi 2 to be staged in 2018
Actress Leena Bhagwat made an announcement in the packed theatre that the way forward for the story of this Dixit family is second part of Goshta Tashi Gamtichi. The 2nd part will have the same cast and crews and will be staged in January 2018 most probably opening show at Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane.
